Tandem Skydiving

What is a tandem skydive?

Tandem skydiving is the easiest and most hassle-free way to make your first skydive.

You will be in a dual harness, securely attached to your instructor who will give you a taste of what skydiving is all about. You’ll experience the amazing thrill of free-fall skydiving and enjoy a long parachute descent.

Because the tandem instructor takes control of  all the vital functions, such as opening the tandem parachute and landing, your preparation for the jump only takes about 20 minutes and you’ll have nothing at all to worry about.

Safety briefing

You will receive a safety briefing from one of our tandem instructors. The instructor will explain, in detail:

  • About the parachute equipment used and the harness you will wear.
  • How you will exit the plane.
  • Your free-fall position.
  • What you are expected to do when reaching the ground.

You will demonstrate to the instructor your exit position, free-fall position and landing position. (See photos below)

Equipment and clothing

The parachute equipment used for a tandem skydive is specially designed.. The actual parachute is over double the size of sports parachute equipment because it is supporting two people. The harness you wear is attached at four points to the front of your instructor.

When it is time to do your skydive, you will be supplied with a sexy jumpsuit to go over your clothes, a pair of goggles and some head-wear. We suggest you wear something loose fitting but comfortable underneath the jumpsuit.  Jogging bottoms or tracksuit bottoms are good, but jeans are too close-fitting for comfort. Trainers are perfect for footwear and, once you are kitted up in your jumpsuit and wearing your harness, you will go and wait in an area we call the Pen. It is an area where you get checked out before you board the plane.

The ultimate experience

You’ll enjoy a fabulous 20-minute flight to ten thousand feet. The views out of the large windows on a clear day are breathtaking. You can see the whole of the Wirral, Liverpool, Snowdon and beyond.

You will exit the aircraft and, like the tandem student in the photo, you’ll experience the most amazing and exhilarating free-fall.

Your parachute opens at 5,000 feet and you’ll float gently to the ground. Depending on your brief, you can have the opportunity to control the parachute.

Video your adventure

We have a video service where you can relive your unforgettable tandem skydive. A professional videographer will be your host through your entire experience, filming you before, during and after your skydive. You have the option of having your Tandem skydive recorded to USB memory stick media in high definition.
