Basic Requirements for Skydiving

Requirements for Tandem Skydiving

  • The minimum age for parachuting is 16. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian (BPA Form 106).
  • There is no maximum age for tandem skydiving, however anyone over 70 will require form 115b signed by a GP, and will need to have an assessment carried out by
    the Chief Instructor. We recommend this is carried out before you book, please contact the office on 01948 841111 to schedule an assessment
  • The maximum weight is 15 stones (95 kg) and you must not be overweight for your height. Please check our weight restrictions.
  • Parachutists need a reasonable standard of physical fitness. We have minimum fitness requirements. All participants must be physically fit, fully self-mobile with a full range of mobility and able to lift their knees to their chest unaided.
  • Unfortunately, if you have a condition or disability which reduces your mobility, you won’t be able to skydive. Please contact the club if you are unsure, as participants will be assessed on arrival and will not be able to jump if the minimum fitness requirements are not met.

Requirements for the Solo Parachute Training Course

Conditions for the Solo Static Line Parachute Training Course

  • The minimum age for parachuting is 16. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian (BPA Form 106).
  • The maximum age for the Solo Static Line course is 54. Parachutists must not be overweight in relation to their height –
  • The maximum allowed weight is 14.5 stone (92kg), which applies to those who are 6 feet tall and over.
  • The minimum allowed weight is 8 stone (59kg) which applies to the minimum height allowed, which is 5 feet 2 inches (1.57 metres). Have a look at the table below, which makes the weight/height limits much clearer.
